STEP 1 - Download Power BI Desktop

STEP 2 - LOGIN
First thing you need to do is sign-in your Dynamics Account. Click on sign-in, type in your Dynamics username, then click on continue.
After signing in, you’ll see your username at the/ top right corner of your Power BI home screen
STEP 3 - CONFIGURE THE IMPORT SETTINGS
Before you start importing your data, there are some usual things to check and configure
- Click on File
- Click on Options and Settings, then click on Options
- In the Current File section, click on Data Load I’ll advice turning off those two settings. Those settings automatically detect relationships when you load in your data and can sometimes undo customizations you have performed, so they are best left off.
STEP 4 - Make sure your Dataverse in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is enabled for Power BI
Go to Home - Power Platform admin center (microsoft.com) to get to the admin side of Microsoft Power Platform, click on Environments, select your environment and click on Settings.
- Click on Product and click on Features
- Ensure TDS Endpoint is enabled
STEP 5 - GET DATA
To get your data into Power BI report, click on Get data, select more at the bottom, search for Dataverse, after selecting Dataverse, click on continue.
- You get a Pop-up prompting you to sign-in, click on sign-in
- Input your sign-in credentials.
- Note, when you are done with the sign-in, you’ll be able to see that on the screen, Click on Connect.
- This Navigator pane shows up, expand the environment you want to get tables from, select the tables and click on Load, should you want to do some data manipulation, then click on Transform Data, this opens up Power Query editor.
- After Loading your data into Power BI, navigate to the Model view in Power BI and setup your relationship.
